New Photos, my apologies and Whew!
Wow! The past four days have been AMAZING and BUSY! Thursday morning, Richard (my husband) and I woke up at 5:30, got the kids ready, got ourselves ready and headed out to an early orthopedic appointment for Richard's knee. The arthritis in his knee from damage done from the accident and the following four surgeries apparently had become more enflamed and they decided to see if a steroid injection would help to easy his pain. So we trekked from Knightdale to Wake Forest in time for his 8 AM appointment, and from there we headed towards Durham to assist with the unload and set up of equipment for the "Night with the Chapmans" concert. We were early which honestly, is not a normal thing for me. I am always the one who is forgetting something when I leave the house for the day. Thankfully, the night before I had prepared a bag because I knew there was no way I was driving back and forth from Knightdale to Durham and vise versa two times! We started unloading the truck somewhere around 11 AM and finished setting the stage somewhere after 1 PM. Richard and I headed out to grab a bite to eat for lunch, and stop by a local Wal-Mart for a package of batteries (for my daughter’s camera), new pair of jeans for him, and a reprint of a group photo taken with some friends of mine and Steven Curtis Chapman way back in 1994. We headed back to the church, and prepared for the rest of the evening. Well after an evening of ushering, listening to GREAT music & INSPIRATIONAL words, traffic control, and some stage tear down; Richard’s knee was throbbing badly and we decided not to finish out with the tear down crew (sorry guys). We reached Knightdale around 11:30 PM and headed to bed shortly there after. Friday, as usual, the alarm went off at 5:30 AM to get the kids up and ready for school. I will admit – I went back to bed after they left for the bus, and I did not wake back up until about 11 AM or so … with muscles and joints yelling very angrily at me, but life goes on and I had at least 4 teenage girls spending the night for baby girl’s sleepover and a birthday dinner to prepare for on Saturday night. I finished with errands and returned to the house to find that the kids were already home (a blessing because they could unload the groceries). So we spent the rest of the evening and Saturday celebrating the 13th birthday of my beloved baby girl. Sunday, we went to Target so she could purchase a new MP3 player and some other items with her gift cards and then we came back home as were lazy as I let the crock pot simmer some yummy chili. So here I am to apologize to those who I promised pictures from the concert. I just started sorting out and resizing the 394 photos I took before my camera battery died (which unfortunately was right at the end of SCC’s second set and right before Mary Beth Chapman came onto the stage). Last night I started sorting and today I have about 70 or so resized so … click the picture below to proceed to the photos page for a BUNCH of shots take during the whole evening!
